Terms and Conditions Proof of Acceptance

This article explains how to see a record of the Terms and Conditions an author accepted when they submitted their manuscript.


When an author submits to a JAMS journal, they must confirm your journal's Terms and Conditions before the submission can be sent to the editors. JAMS now keeps a record of that acceptance against each manuscript, so your editorial team can see exactly which statements the author agreed to, and when.

📝 Note: This record is created automatically at the point of submission. There is nothing you need to switch on to start collecting it, though you do need Terms and Conditions configured for the journal. See Configurable Terms and Conditions if you have not set yours up yet.


Where to find Proof of Acceptance


When you receive a new submission, visit its manuscript page by clicking on the Manuscript ID in your Editor menu.


To find the auto-generated Terms and Conditions, click on 'Display Manuscript Log'.


The first available document will be the Proof of Acceptance, followed by the files that the author has uploaded. You can download the Proof of Acceptance by clicking on the blue link.


The Proof of Acceptance will have the date and version of the submitted manuscript. It will also have basic manuscript and author details as well as the exact terms that the author has agreed to.

📝 Note: If you run different terms per journal, each manuscript's record reflects that journal's Terms and Conditions. See Journal-specific Terms and Conditions for how those are set up.


Updated Terms and Conditions


If you change your Terms and Conditions after a manuscript has been submitted, the earlier submission keeps the record of what its author originally agreed to. New submissions will show acceptance of your updated terms.
