Reviewer Database
Clients running their journals on JAMS have multiple ways of adding and inviting reviewers to the papers that are under review. Reviewers can be manually added (created) directly on the manuscript page or searched via the Scilit search feature as well as being pulled out the database. Clients should at first select the option in the Application Features menu if they wish to link a reviewer to a specific journal when adding them to their database in order to separate the data pools. In case this feature is not enabled (default behavior), a reviewer in the database can be invited by any of the journals the publisher has set up on JAMS. This feature is applicable for multi-journal publishers whereas single journals using JAMS do not have to consider this feature.
Upon checking these settings, reviewer database can be accessed via the Manage Reviewers option selected from the main menu.
In this screen, clients can manually add a reviewer by choosing + Add New option and populating mandatory data fields which will be shown.
For more efficient reviewer adding, it is possible to import a .csv file with data of multiple reviewers. In order to do so, user should follow Import CSV option which will open up a new page where user is able to download the .csv template.
Upon populating the .csv file with reviewer data, file can be reuploaded into the system via the Choose File field. Please note that not all fields in the .csv file need to be populated, mandatory fields include: reviewer first and last name, email and title. Once this import has been completed, reviewers will be visible in the Manage Reviewers page as shown in the example below.
